Kenneth Maldonado played high school volleyball in Arroyo, PR at Arroyo High playing on the varsity team. Kenneth attended the University of Puerto Rico, where he played 2 years in the UPR in Ponce and 3 years in UPR Colegio in Mayaguez. During his university career he played the positions of middle blocker, opposite and setter. He acquired 4 championships in the Inter-University Athletics League (LAI) which is the collegiate athletics conference level in Puerto Rico. He also played in the Puerto Rico professional volleyball league for both the towns of Ponce and Guayanilla; this has provided Kenneth with a well rounded understanding of the game. He continued to play recreationally on a weekly basis, until about 2019. Having two daughters enjoy the sports as much as he does pushed him to create a space for the sport on the east side of Houston where little to no opportunities were available for volleyball development. That is where Power Set Volleyball Club was formed and that is where he quickly became Coach K is excited to share his passion for the sport with athletes. He is joined by his wife Marisa Martinez who enjoys supporting his dream to provide opportunities for more athletes .
